Repeat Signage digital signage software

Insert picture

Use this tab to select a picture file to insert.  It defaults to inserting a file from your computer and you can use the 'Browse' button to find a picture.

If you have the Repeat Signage Standard or above editions, then you can also select files from remote locations.

When you have selected this then click on the 'Next' button so that you can choose the size of your picture when inserted into your spreadsheet.

PDF's and Microsoft Word documents

We also support you inserting a page from a PDF or Microsoft Word document with this screen.  Simply browse for either of these two types of files and then use can use the Page number box to choose a page to display.

Microsoft Word document note - This is a snap shot of a Word document at the time.  It is not a live link to a word processing document.

Note on embedded pictures in spreadsheets

When you insert a picture into a spreadsheet, it takes a snapout of the picture which is saved within the spreadsheet file itself.  If you do this within Repeat Signage, we also keep a note of where your source file was located and any options used like cropping and resizing.  So if you then edit the spreadsheet again within Repeat Signage, you double click the picture to edit it.  When editing, Repeat Signage will attempt to access the source picture so that you can adjust the size and cropping options from the original picture.

Advanced location options:

RepeatServer.com    (Standard and above editions ONLY)

This shows you the files you have hosted on your free RepeatServer.com account.  With the Standalone edition, this is only enabled for RSS feeds.  To set up an account, then see the 'Repeat Server' tab on the Repeat Signage main screen

'On a website'  (Standard and above editions ONLY)

The Browse button opens up a browser window to allow you to find a file on an Internet website (or on a local network Intranet site).  The file will automatically be downloaded and put in your system cache so that Repeat Signage can display it.  The next time you load this presentation, then Repeat Signage will check to see if there is a newer version of your file.  If there is then it will download the newer version to the system cache and play it.

If you are using this screen to select Repeat Signage Presentations (.rsp), Repeat Signage Play Lists (.rspl),  then you may get a 'Cannot download your chosen file' message.  Please note that on some websites, the website will need a MIME type configuring in the websites hosting control panel.

'On an FTP site' or 'In a file on an FTP site'  (Standard and above editions ONLY)

If you don't know what an FTP site is, then click here.  You will need to add a new FTP site to your presentation first.  You will need the following information:

Select 'On an FTP site' and use the Add button to enter this information on the FTP site record page.  After you click OK, then you can use the Browse button to visit your FTP site and select a file to display.  The file will automatically be downloaded and put in your system cache so that Repeat Signage can display it.  The next time you load this presentation, then Repeat Signage will check to see if there is a newer version of your file.  If there is then it will download the newer version to the system cache and play it.
