Video and audio position screen
When you only want to play part of an audio or video file, then this screen is
used so that you can visually (with videos) select the part of the file you want
to play. Use the Play button to play the file. When you get to
the start of where you want to the file to start, then click on the 'Set current
position as start' button. When you get to the point that you want the
file to stop, then click on the 'Set current position as finish' button.
When you click on OK, the start and end times are copied back to the previous
screen.
The slider bar below the video, or audio picture, can be used to quickly move to
the part of the file you want to select.
File sizes
Selecting a part of a file to play doesn't alter the original file. If you
are using the Standard or above editions of this software and transferring files over
the Internet, it is best to copy the part you want out of the file and create a
new smaller file for faster transfer. You can use Windows Movie Maker to
edit videos and also see our
recommended
software page for software that would enable you to do this.
